GE nx Projection & Stage Simulation
On November 29th, 2012 GE announced its commitment to building the “Industrial Internet.” The term speaks to the idea that by connecting the digital world with the world of machines, the Industrial Internet holds the promise of increased productivity, stronger economic growth and better living standards.
For the one day announcement event, Sub Rosa developed motion graphics that were deployed across bespoke screens on the stage and in the event setting. Included within the ten animations was a two minute video, projection mapped across five unique screens, that surrounded a full size decommissioned GEnx engine.
I assisted in designing and generating 2D/3D assets used in the projection mapped installation and live presentation. I also created a technically accurate 3D representation of the space from architectural schematics. These were used to convey what the developing visuals would look like in the presentation space prior to its construction. The final pieces were precisely mapped across five custom screens and utilized Maya, After Effects, Illustrator and Photoshop in their creation.
