CN2 Station ID – Hail
Insight Media was tasked with creating station IDs for the weather department at Kentucky channel CN2. Each ID needed to focus on a particular seasonal phenomenon or event.
This spot featured the beginning of a hail storm. The viewer initially sees what appear to be normal, round hailstones lightly bouncing off a rooftop and then a park bench. However, when the camera lowers to a worm’s eye view, it’s revealed that the hailstones are not round but instead in the shape of a “2″, the station ID.
My role was to conceptualize the buildup to and reveal of the station ID in storyboard and styleframe format. Work was created in Maya and Photoshop.
